Privacy Policy

Information Collected

The developer of Wright does not collect any information about you through the app. Wright has no accounts, analytics, or ads.

Wright stores the following information on this device.

Your bookmarks and search history sync across your devices signed in to the same Apple Account, using your iCloud account. The developer cannot see this data. Bookmarks and search history in Private Mode, as well as your settings, are stored only on this device and not synced.

Stored information remains until you delete it as described in “Deleting Your Data.” It may also be included in your device backups.

If you turn on Share With App Developers, the developer may receive crash logs and diagnostic information from Apple. Apple provides this information in a form that doesn’t identify you. It is used to fix bugs.

Information Sent Outside the App

Google Suggestions

To show suggestions, Wright sends the text you are typing in the search bar, along with your device’s language, to Google. This feature is on by default and also sends this information in Private Mode. Google may also receive your IP address. This information is handled in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. To stop sending it, turn off Google suggestions in Wright’s Settings > Suggestions.

When you run a search, Wright opens the site or app you chose with the words you entered. When you scan a book’s barcode, Wright searches for it on Amazon. The sites and apps you search with may also receive your IP address. This information is handled in accordance with each service’s privacy policy. Web pages opened inside Wright share cookies with Safari.

Clipboard

Wright reads the text on the clipboard only when you tap the paste button in the search bar, or when you search with a bookmark set up to use clipboard text.

Permissions

You can still use the rest of the app without allowing any of these. You can change these permissions at any time in the Settings app.

Contact Form

Messages you send using the contact form on the Support page are received by the developer. The form has no fields for your name, email address, or other contact information. The developer uses these messages to improve the apps and does not share them with third parties except as required by law. Messages that are no longer needed are deleted. Because the form can’t identify who sent a message, individual messages can’t be deleted after they are sent.

Because the form uses Google Forms, messages you send are also handled in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.

This policy may change. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page.
